Applying and Sharing Evidence to Practice

Applying and Sharing Evidence to Practice
After the data have been analyzed, conclusions are made regarding what the findings mean. Then, this information must be shared with your healthcare team.

  1. Choose one of the articles from the Week 5 RRL assignment, and discuss the findings. Would you apply the evidence found to your practice? Explain your answer.
  2. Translating research into practice is the final and most important step in the research process. Review information you found your nursing clinical issue and explain ways in which you would share the research-based evidence with your peers.

Role of HR in HealthCare Essay Assignment Paper

Role of HR in HealthCare Essay Assignment Paper
Janet has been working as a nurse manager for a little over six months. Since she took this position, nurses have asked her a variety of questions related to paid leave, health insurance coverage, retirement plans, and other important issues. Each new question causes Janet to wonder whether she is providing her staff with sufficient information. Janet realizes that she needs help answering these questions, and she is curious to see if she can enlist the assistance of someone in the Human Resources department. Despite her experience as a nurse and as a nurse manager, Janet is not sure what kind of support HR can provide, nor how and when she should request their help.  Nurse managers may be uncertain about the roles that HR plays in health care organizations. In addition, many managers are unclear about how HR can support them with the staff function of their managerial responsibilities. As a nurse manager, what questions might you have about HR’s role? Furthermore, how have your previous experiences impacted your perceptions?  To prepare •Reflect upon the role HR has played in your current organization or one with which you are familiar. What interactions have you noticed between HR professionals and other staff in this setting? How do these interactions compare to those of nurse managers and staff that you have observed? •Complete the media survey, “Survey on HR,” found in this week’s Learning Resources. Though this survey is not graded, take careful note of the questions asked and the correct answers. •Review Chapter 1, “The New Human Resource Management Process” in the course text, Human Resource Management: Functions, Applications, & Skill Development, as well as this week’s media, “Introduction to Healthcare Human Resource Management.” •Consider how your perceptions of HR are similar to or different from the roles of HR described in the Learning Resources. How does the role of HR differ from that of a nurse manager?  Role of HR in HealthCare Essay Assignment Paper.

Discussion of journal articles is important to the development of critical thinking and evaluation skills. You are provided with citations for two different articles to discuss with your colleagues, in a “journal club” style. A journal club typically refers to a group of individuals who meet to critically evaluate journal articles in their academic field. You will participate in a journal club style critique in this module’s Discussion. This type of evaluation is very useful to broaden your knowledge of the field and practice critical thinking skills. Your discussion must be relevant to the journal article and must provide a scholarly critique of the contents.

Elements of poor leadership essay

Elements of poor leadership essay
Overview
Health care management requires leadership skills which will test your ability to make vital decisions. “Like a rapidly mutating cancer cell, poor leadership within healthcare systems can cause toxic symptoms that adversely impact organizational work cultures and staff satisfaction and lead to burnout” (Werberg, 2010, para. 1). Assessments made by leadership have a direct relation to many areas, including but not limited to the following: The quality of care provided, staff morale, and organizational reputation. As a trailblazer of your organization, you will use effective leadership skills to manage/avoid conflict, make effective recommendations, manage staff, and protect the overall quality/efficiency of the organization. To make effective decisions as a leader you should identify the major facts, indicate if or what problems exist, and finally, recommend a solution.
This assignment requires you to review a practical case study and analyze the elements of poor leadership. The case study also explores characteristics of a health care leader while introducing safety culture. Your assessment and responses to the realistic scenario should be based off leadership attributes. Elements of poor leadership essay.

Griner, P. (2017). Case study: On being transparent. Retrieved from http://www.ihi.org/education/IHIOpenSchool/resources/Documents/Participant_On%20Being%20Transparent.pdf
After reading the case study, you should complete a 2- to 3-page case analysis that includes three distinct sections (in addition to your introduction and conclusion):

  1. Major Facts – Summarize the facts in the case. This includes the most important incidents in the case. Avoid simply restating the case.
  2. Problem(s) – From the facts it should reveal the problems that need attention. Specify those problems and explain their significance. Elements of poor leadership essay.
  3. Solution and Expected Outcome – Recommend a solution, and for each recommendation provide an action on how it would be implemented. For each solution provide your expected outcome.

Assignment Expectations

  1. Conduct additional research to gather sufficient information to justify/support your recommendations and outcomes. You should have at least two solutions and two outcomes respectively.
  2. Limit your response to a maximum of 3 pages.
  3. Support your case with peer-reviewed articles, with at least 2 references. Use the following source for additional information on how to recognize peer-reviewed journals: http://www.angelo.edu/services/library/handouts/peerrev.php.

Late Assignment Policy
Students are expected to submit assignments by the time they are due. Assignments submitted
after the due date and time will receive a deduction of 10% of the total points possible for that
assignment for each day the assignment is late. Assignments will be accepted, with penalty as
described, up to a maximum of three days late, after which point a zero will be recorded for the
assignment.
In the event of an emergency that prevents timely submission of an assignment, students may
petition their instructor for a waiver of the late submission grade reduction. The instructor will
review the student’s rationale for the request and make a determination based on the merits of
the student’s appeal. Consideration of the student’s total course performance to date will be a
contributing factor in the determination. Students should continue to attend class, actively
participate, and complete other assignments while the appeal is pending.

Cognitive Behavioral Theory (CBT) Versus Rational Emotive Behavioral Theory (REBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Theory (CBT) Versus Rational Emotive Behavioral Theory (REBT)
While cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT) have many similarities, they are distinctly different therapeutic approaches. When assessing clients and selecting one of these therapies, you must recognize the importance of not only selecting the one that is best for the client, but also the approach that most aligns to your own skill set. For this Assignment, as you examine the similarities and differences between CBT and REBT, consider which therapeutic approach you might use with your clients.

Maladaptive Responses to Immune Disorders Discussion Paper

Maladaptive Responses to Immune Disorders Discussion Paper
Maladaptive responses to disorders are compensatory mechanisms that ultimately have adverse health effects for patients. For instance, a patient’s allergic reaction to peanuts might lead to anaphylactic shock, or a patient struggling with depression might develop a substance abuse problem. To properly diagnose and treat patients, advanced practice nurses must understand both the pathophysiology of disorders and potential maladaptive responses that some disorders cause.
