I would like you to visit an art museum or gallery in person and post about two of the artworks you view there. The artwork can be of your own choosing, but should be within the time span we studied. If you would like, you can also choose to pick a culture that we didn’t study, just make sure it is within the same time period. If possible, I would like you to post a photograph of the work here, either as an attachment or inserted into your post. Museums and galleries have variable photography policies, so please ask first. Flash photography is never allowed, but otherwise it is usually fine.In your post, I would like you to answer the following questions in essay form: Why did you pick the artwork you did? What do you think is significant about the work aside from your interest? What did the museum’s placard say about the work itself or the body of work that was similar to it? How was the work similar or different from the works that was exhibited with it/next to it? What was your overall experience like? (Did you find anything else interesting, special features, other artworks, and so on)? How is different to see a work in person as opposed to viewing a reproductions? RENAISSANCE TO MODERN ART
